Welcome to the Wiki[]

For anyone who doesn't know what a round-robin is, it's a type of collaborative fiction writing or storytelling in which a number of authors each write chapters of a novel or pieces of a story, in rounds.

Round-robin novels were invented in the 19th century, but the art of round-robin story telling may be ancient since its origins involved a group of people sitting around a fire telling a story.

In modern times, the tradition of round-robin storytelling became a tradition in science fiction, later making its way on the Internet with collaborate fan fiction sites.

Topic Description[]

I first heard about robin-robin while visiting this writer's camp during my middle school year. The story I did turned out to be a horror-comedy of a sorts where a girl gets so shocked at a surprise birthday party her friends threw for her that her brain burst out of her head.

Whenever I write, my ideas tend to get stalled on various things--plot holes, too much detail, various distractions ranging from chores and art projects, so I wind up with piles of note books filled with half finished stories. Hopefully on this Wikia, I can give these stories a second chance of life.

This wikia portion will feature a series of round-robin fantasy/horror stories from my collection, starting from beginnings and middles that will be added on by the next writer/visitor. Some of these originals are just a few paragraphs while others are a few pages.

Variants On Round Robin Format[]

A classic Round Robin has each person writing multiple parts either to a pattern of repitions or randomly. Another variation of this theme is to have the original writer create both the first and last parts.

"Exquisite Corpse variant" round-robin method (from the original French term cadavre exquis) or rotating corpse, is when each new writer is only given the immediately preceding chapter, and must figure out things got there. This variant also applies to comic strips where each artist is only given a single panel to work with.
